Fundraising

The JayChords have chosen NAMI of Wake, Durham, and Orange Counties as the recipients of our fundraising and volunteer activities.  All donations at performances, as well as proceeds from ticket sales (JayChord-Run concerts only) and most of the proceeds from the JayStore will go towards these local NAMI affiliates.  The JayChords periodically volunteer directly for these organizations and all you JayFans are welcome to join us.  If you wish to volunteer for NAMI through the JayChords as a JayFan, please contact our NAMI Volunteer Coordinator.  Just keep an eye on our calendar for upcoming events.  For more information on NAMI, please read the description below. 

JayStore  (stickers, t-shirts, etc).  Most of the proceeds from merchandise sales go to NAMI.

Commissioned Concerts:  The JayChords would love to perform for your organization or event.  Donations to NAMI are encouraged.  Please contact our Business Manager for more information.  Past fundraising concerts include:

NAMI

NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families. Founded in 1979, NAMI has become the nation’s voice on mental illness, a national organization including NAMI organizations in every state and in over 1100 local communities across the country (including Wake, Orange and Durham counties North Carolina) who join together to meet the NAMI mission through advocacy, research, support, and education. 

 

NAMI is dedicated to the eradication of mental illnesses and to the improvement of the quality of life of all whose lives are affected by these diseases.  Dedicated NAMI members, leaders, and friends work tirelessly across all levels to meet a shared NAMI mission of support, education, advocacy, and research for people living with mental illness through various activities, including public education and information activities, family and consumer peer education and support activities, advocacy on behalf of people living with mental illness and for the health of our communities and visible public events that raise funds and awareness while engaging the public such as NAMIWalks

 

NAMI is a 501(c)3 charity and any donation you make to support The JayChords fundraising activities is tax deductible. NAMI has been rated by Worth magazine as among the top 100 charities "most likely to save the world" and has been given an "A+" rating by The American Institute of Philanthropy for efficient and effective use of charitable dollars. NAMI has also been given 4 out of 4 stars by The Charity Navigator for short-term spending practices and long-term sustainability.
